The British Union of Spiritist Societies (BUSS) is hosting a series of monthly talks to honor Camille Flammarion, one of the earliest exponents of Spiritism. The first installment brings French Spiritist researcher Charles Kempf shedding light on Flammarion's life.

Nosso Lar 2: The Messengers Premiers in Brazilian Cinemas

The long-awaited sequel to "Astral City: A Spiritual Journey" premiered in Brazilian movie theaters in January and reached over 1 million spectators already. English speakers everywhere are crossing their fingers an English version will still reach us in 2024. Stay tuned!

Selected Tidbits of #SpiritualHistory for This Month

  • February 5, 1876: Famous psychic researcher William Osley obtained paraffin moldings of the hands and feet of materialized Spirits In Manchester, England, which caused sensational news.
  • February 6, 1832: Amélie Gabrielle Boudet marries Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail In Paris, France. Rivail would later become the Codifier of Spiritism under the pseudonym Allan Kardec.
  • February 6, 1843: Frederic William Henry Myers, English poet, classical scholar, and one of the founders of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR), was born in Keswick, England. Myers made significant contributions to the scientific study of paranormal and psychic phenomena.
  • February 9, 1939: The spirit Emmanuel, who experienced a former incarnational as an ancient Roman senator and philosopher, finishes writing the Spiritist bestseller "Two Thousand Years Ago" through the medium Francisco Xavier. The book provides a unique spiritual perspective on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
  • February 12, 1809: Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the USA, was born in Larue County, KY. He held mediumship sessions at the White House with medium Nettie Colburn.
  • February 15, 1926: Gabriel Delanne, a notable French spiritist, psychical researcher, writer, and engineer, discarnates in Paris, France. Delanne's work aimed to bridge the gap between spirituality and science, advocating for a more scientific examination of paranormal and psychic phenomena.
  • February 19, 1822: The nun Joana Angélica de Jesus, a martyr of Brazilian independence and former incarnation of the spirit author Joanna de Ângelis, discarnates in Salvador, Brazil.
  • February 20, 1822: The Society for Psychical Research is founded in London, England. This organization has played a crucial role in the development of parapsychology and its scientific exploration, serving as a reputable and scholarly resource for those interested in the human mind and consciousness.
  • February 26, 1802: Victor Hugo, French writer and dedicated Spiritist, is born in Besançon, France. Hugo continues to write, having authored a number of books through the mediumship of Divaldo Franco and Zilda Gama.
  • February 26, 1842: Camille Flammarion, French astronomer, author, and early exponent of Spiritism, was born in Val-de-Meuse, France. His work helped popularize spiritism in France and contributed to the broader understanding of the movement.
  • February 27, 1949: The renowned Spiritist medium Divaldo Franco psychographed his first spirit message on this day. The spirit Marco Prisco was the author.
