- Prof. Alexander Moreira‑Almeida Honored with Oskar Pfister Award: On May 17, 2025, at the APA Annual Meeting in Los Angeles, Prof. Alexander Moreira‑Almeida, MD, PhD received the prestigious Oskar Pfister Award—the highest recognition at the intersection of psychiatry and spirituality, joining luminaries like Viktor Frankl and Robert Cloninger. His acceptance lecture, “Scientific Exploration of the Nature of Spiritual Experiences,” presented compelling evidence that spiritual phenomena are widespread, non-pathological, and suggest the presence of a non-physical dimension of the mind—a powerful affirmation of Spiritist perspectives. - Toronto’s First Spiritist Film Festival a Success: The inaugural Toronto Spiritist Film Festival took place on May 31 at Innis Town Hall, bringing together audiences for a powerful day of Spiritist cinema, including Nobody Belongs to Anyone, Chico Forever, and Astral City 2, followed by a Q&A with director Wagner de Assis. With similar festivals held in Gold Coast (Australia), the UK, and beyond, we celebrate this growing movement to bring spiritual themes to the big screen—and hope to see more events like these around the world.
- 8th European Spiritist Gathering Held in Finland: The 8th European Spiritist Gathering recently took place in Finland, bringing together participants from across the continent to reflect, learn, and build connections around Spiritist teachings. On May 13, 2025, at the age of 98, Divaldo Pereira Franco returned to the spiritual world he so often described, peacefully closing a chapter of extraordinary earthly service. But his presence remains—in the pages of his books, the lives he touched, and the work that continues in his name.

Divaldo Franco (May 5, 1927 – May 13, 2025) devoted nearly eight decades to spreading the light of Spiritism across the world. A medium, educator, humanitarian, and tireless public speaker, he became one of the most beloved and influential figures in the Spiritist movement.

- June 3, 1925: Spiritist medium, astronomer, writer, and researcher Camille Flammarion discarnates in Juvisy, France.
- June 12, 1851: Sir Oliver Lodge, British physicist, writer, and Spiritualist researcher, is born in 1851 in Penkhull, Staffordshire, England.
- June 12, 1856: Allan Kardec receives a message from the Spirit of Truth through the mediumship of Aline C confirming his role in codifying Spiritism.
- June 14, 1829: British writer and medium Emma Hardinge Britten is born in London. Her books Modern American Spiritualism (1870) and Nineteenth Century Miracles (1884) are detailed accounts of Spiritualism in America.
- June 14, 1932: Italian medium Linda Gazzera discarnates on this day. Gazzera was the subject of research by Cesare Lombroso, Charles Richet, Mme Bison, and Enrico Imoda.
- June 17, 1832: Sir William Crookes, a British chemist, physicist, and spiritualist researcher, is born in London. Crookes studied mediums Kate Fox, Florence Cook, and Daniel Dunglas Home and was a major proponent of life after life.
- June 18, 1946: French Spiritist writer Paul Bodier discarnates.
- June 21, 1886: Scottish medium Daniel Dunglas Home, considered one of the greatest physical effects medium the world has seen, discarnates in Paris.
- June 24, 1943: Italian Spiritist writer and psychic researcher Ernesto Bozzano discarnates in Genoa, Italy.
- June 30, 2002: Brazilian medium Francisco Cândido Xavier discarnates in Uberaba, MG, in Brazil.
