Speaker B:

June is going to be a busy month for European spiritists.

Speaker B:

Now this next story is absolutely fascinating.

Speaker B:

A new study published in the Brazilian Journal of Psychiatry has found a potential genetic link to mediumship.

Speaker A:

This is big.

Speaker A:

Researchers from top Brazilian universities analyzed 54 experienced mediums and compared their genetic profiles to their first degree relatives who aren't mediums.

Speaker B:

And what they found is mind blowing.

Speaker B:

Mediums had over 15,000 unique genetic variants affecting more than 7,000 genes.

Speaker B:

Many of these genes are associated with sensory perception, immune system function and the pineal gland.

Speaker A:

The pineal gland.

Speaker A:

That's something spiritists have long considered linked to spiritual perception.

Speaker A:

Now we have genetic research backing it up.

Speaker B:

This study opens the door for more scientific exploration of spiritual faculties.

Speaker B:

Could there be a biological factor that makes some people more sensitive to spiritual communication?

Speaker B:

Spiritists have always said that mediumship is a natural faculty.

Speaker B:

And now science is catching up.

Speaker A:

Speaking of catching up, let's talk about learning opportunities.

Speaker A:

Many spiritists prefer in person study, but online study groups are a great alternative.

Speaker A:

Especially if you don't have a local spiritist center nearby.

Speaker B:

That's right.

Speaker B:

And we have two new study groups starting soon.

Speaker B:

One study of the planetary transition by Manuel Filomeno de Miranda.

Speaker B:

Hosted by the Conscious Living Spiritist Group.

Speaker B:

This group meets Sundays at 9am Eastern on Zoom.

Speaker B:

They've just finished studying Kardec's Genesis and are now diving into planetary transition.

Speaker B:

2 Study of on the Way to the Light by Emmanuel Hosted by the Spiritist Institute, this group will explore humanity's history from a spiritual perspective.

Speaker B:
